Stevenson, The Color Company CINCINNATI — Stevenson, The Color Company, has announced the addition of a fully automatic laminating/mounting system at its Cincinnati headquarters. The Lamina 1116-1620 system automates the labor-intensive process of laminating and mounting press sheets to foam boards or other surfaces, increasing output to 500-800 sheets per hour. The system is manufactured by Lamina System AB, part of the Sweden based Swegmark Group. Andy Stevenson sees the new Lamina system as a valuable investment, “Not only does it save a great deal of time, but we have capacity to offer to other printers seeking this capability on an outsource basis.” This added capability compliments Stevenson’s growing position as a provider of signage and logistics services to major retailers throughout the United States. As retail signage has become more abundant and elaborate, Stevenson identified the opportunity to combine their heritage of quality color management with innovative printing services to serve retailers in this expanding category. The key to this transition was the purchase of a 51” offset press that enables wide-format printing, including UV printing and coatings on a variety of absorbent and nonporous substrates. Today, Stevenson works with clients from concept development through final printing of store displays, signage, and themed decors including kitting and shipping to individual store locations. In addition to retail graphics, Stevenson continues to be among the nation’s largest providers of pre-media services for the consumer packaging industry.
