Denis Dutton: A Darwinian Theory of Beauty
April 14, 2011
The way I see it beauty and visual excellence go hand in hand. Ensuring visual excellence, our tag line no less, is the essence of what we do. According to Denis Dutton, professor of the philosophy of art at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand and the author of “The Art Instinct: Beauty, Pleasure and Human Evolution”, it's instinctual in all of us to seek beauty out. However, it is quite another thing to make beauty. Those who can and do have always been considered desirable partners for a multitude of reasons. So, whether designing visually arresting brand assets for a packaging project, developing precise color targets for a new line of products or meticulously kitting the latest retail brand launch program, we are always striving to create beauty or "visual excellence" in the aesthetics, craft and process of what we do.
